Thieves Break Into Hudkeshwar Mobile Store, Steal Phones, Cash

Nagpur: A major burglary was reported under the limits of Hudkeshwar Police Station after unidentified thieves broke into a mobile shop in Mhalgi Nagar area and decamped with mobile phones and cash worth over Rs 3.26 lakh.


According to police, complainant Prathamesh Purushottam Kamone (24), a resident of Shri Nagar in Manewada, owns a mobile shop located at Shop No. 3 in a commercial row at Geeta Nagar, Manewada Road.


Police said the incident took place between 6.30 pm on May 8 and 8.30 am on May 9, when the complainant had locked the shop and returned home. During the night, unidentified burglars allegedly broke the shutter lock, entered the premises and stole several mobile phones of brands including Samsung, Oppo, Motorola, Redmi, Realme, Poco and iPhone.


The accused also stole old mobile phones kept for repair work along with cash amounting to Rs 15,050. The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at Rs 3,26,838.


Based on the complaint, Sub-Inspector Pankaj Jadhav of Hudkeshwar Police Station has registered a case against unidentified accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).


Police are scanning CCTV footage and searching for the accused. Further investigation is underway.
