NAGPUR: Two persons have been booked for allegedly using forged registration numbers on Hydra crane vehicles to make them appear legally registered and deceive the government in Nagpur.

The case was registered by Kapilnagar police on November 3 after information was received that two Hydra cranes bearing the same registration number were parked near Mount Litera School at Plot No. 204, on land belonging to Bhutani, within the police station’s jurisdiction.

Following the information, police conducted an inquiry at the spot and allegedly found that the two accused had conspired to use the registration number of one Hydra crane on two other vehicles without valid registration documents.

According to the police, the accused allegedly used forged registration numbers to make the vehicles appear legally registered and used them for business purposes, thereby misleading and defrauding the government.

The supplied police record is unclear about the precise role and status of the second accused entry.

The Hydra crane involved in the case has been valued at approximately ₹20 lakh.
