Nagpur: City’s Public Works Sub-Division has begun construction of a bridge near the spillway of Ambazari Lake, led by M/s S.G. Motwani Company. As a result, traffic in the area has been diverted to alternate routes, causing significant congestion and inconvenience to commuters.

Following directives from the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court during a hearing on Writ Petition No. 56/23 on July 11, 2024, the court has instructed that until the bridge construction is completed, two-wheeler traffic on this route should be diverted through the VNIT College premises. To ensure smooth traffic management and prevent serious accidents, the Nagpur Traffic Department led by DCP Archit Chandak has implemented a temporary traffic regulation plan.

Traffic Diversion Plan:

1. Traffic heading from Hingna towards Sitabuldi will be diverted as follows:

  - Two-wheelers and ambulances traveling from Hingna towards Sitabuldi via the Ambazari Lake area must turn right at Gajanan Mandir T-point. From there, vehicles will take the newly constructed temporary road near the Indian Oil petrol pump, pass through Yeshwant Nagar Square, and exit through VNIT College Gate No. 3 near the Ambazari Police Station.

  Timings for the diversion:

  - Morning: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM

  - Evening: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

This traffic regulation will be effective from October 1, 2024, until October 15, 2024. All commuters in Nagpur are requested to follow these instructions to avoid inconvenience and cooperate with the police.
