Nagpur: For the past ten days, the residents of Waramba village in Kamptee tehsil have been gripped by fear due to the presence of an adult tiger in the area. The tiger has already claimed the lives of two cattle belonging to a local villager named Mohurle, further heightening the anxiety among the locals.

The frequent sightings of the tiger have caused widespread panic, with farmers avoiding their fields and labourers hesitant to continue their work. To address the situation, the Nagpur Forest Department has installed camera traps in the village, successfully capturing footage of the tiger.

In response to the growing concern, the Forest Department has decided to deploy a Special Response Police (SRP) team in Waramba village. The SRP team reportedly arrived on Saturday. However, there has been a delay in making necessary arrangements for the 35-member team, as the junior officer responsible for the area is currently on leave, and senior officials have yet to conduct an inspection of the affected area.

This lack of prompt action has sparked considerable discussion and concern within the forest department, as the villagers continue to live under the looming threat of the tiger.
