Thieves Break into Jaripatka Mobile Shop, Steal 33 Phones Worth ₹7 Lakh

Nagpur: Burglars broke into a mobile phone shop in Jaripatka and allegedly stole 33 old and new mobile phones worth around ₹7 lakh, police said.


The complainant, Yash Siddharth Gajbhiye (30), a resident of Aradhana Colony on Nara Road, owns a mobile phone shop dealing in both old and new handsets at Shop No. 108, Sadodaya Apartment, Kadbi Chowk, Jaripatka.


According to the complaint, Gajbhiye closed his shop and locked it at around 11 pm on June 25 before leaving for his residence. Between 11 pm on June 25 and 8.30 am on June 26, unidentified thieves allegedly broke the lock of the shop’s shutter, forced it open and entered the premises.


The burglars then decamped with 33 mobile phones of various brands, collectively valued at approximately ₹7 lakh.


Based on the complaint, Jaripatka Police have registered a case against unidentified accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) dealing with house-breaking and theft. Police are examining CCTV footage and have launched a search to trace the culprits.


Further investigation is underway.
