Nagpur: A 26-year-old painter lost his life after falling from the first floor of a building while painting an exterior wall in the Mankapur area on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased, Kamlesh Umrao Somkunwar, a resident of Samta Nagar, Ambatoli, Jaripatka, was working on a swing scaffold at a building located behind Alexis Hospital around 12.30 pm when he lost balance and fell to the ground. He sustained severe head and chest injuries and was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment at around 1.38 am on October 29.

Based on medical intimation, Mankapur Police registered a case of accidental death. The investigation is being carried out by API Pranjali Ambedkar.
