Nagpur: Thieves broke into a locked house in Wadi’s MHADA Quarters and decamped with gold ornaments worth ₹1.62 lakh while the owner was away visiting relatives in Pune.
As per police reports, the complainant Nilkanth Ambadas Lokhande (68), a resident of Quarter No. 34, Navnit Nagar, Wadi, had locked his house and gone to Pune with his family on October 25. When he returned on October 29, he found the main door lock and latch broken. On inspection, he discovered that unknown burglars had entered the house and stolen gold ornaments from an iron cupboard in the bedroom.
Following the complaint, PSI Kunal Ghurte of Wadi Police registered an offence under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the BNS. Police are investigating to trace the culprits involved in the theft.
