Nagpur: The iconic Marbat Festival, one of Nagpur’s oldest and most distinctive cultural traditions, is set to get a new digital dimension this year, with tickets for the event being made available on BookMyShow for the first time.

The event is scheduled to be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, starting at 12.30 pm at Gandhi Putla in Nagpur. The three-hour event will be open to people aged 18 years and above.

According to the ticket details, the Executive ticket is priced at ₹500, while a Heritage Walk ticket will cost ₹750. A special event T-shirt will also be provided with the ticket, adding to the experience for participants.

The Marbat Festival is deeply rooted in Nagpur’s cultural history and is traditionally celebrated around Pola Padwa. The festival is known for its colourful processions featuring Marbat effigies symbolising social evils, along with satirical representations of contemporary issues.

The traditional Kali Marbat and Pivli Marbat processions attract thousands of people and have historically provided a platform for social commentary and satire.

With ticketing moving to BookMyShow, this year’s celebration is expected to offer visitors a more organised and curated way to experience Nagpur’s unique Marbat tradition, including the heritage walk.
