Nagpur: A 40-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted and stabbed on the thumb by her husband following an argument over household expenses, her daughter’s tuition fees, and school uniform in Nagpur’s Hudkeshwar area. The accused fled after the attack, police said.
According to Hudkeshwar Police, the incident took place between 10 am and 1 pm on July 6 at the couple’s residence in Radhanagar, near the Anganwadi, under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar Police Station.
The complainant, Saroj Roshan Hande (40), alleged that her husband, Roshan Ram Hande (40), frequently returns home intoxicated and does not contribute financially to the household.

Enraged by the remarks, Roshan allegedly abused his wife and assaulted her with fists and kicks. During the altercation, he allegedly picked up a vegetable-cutting knife from the house and attacked her, injuring the thumb of her right hand.
After the alleged assault, the accused fled from the spot.
The injured woman received medical treatment at Yogdeep Clinic.
Based on her complaint, Hudkeshwar Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to voluntarily causing hurt, assault, and intentional insult. Further investigation is underway.
