Nagpur: A 40-year-old woman has accused a man of demanding sexual favours, stalking her and threatening to defame her despite her allegedly repaying nearly double the amount of a ₹5 lakh loan, prompting MIDC police to register a case.
According to the complaint, the woman was operating a Setu service centre when she became acquainted with the accused, Nazim Baig Mirza, a resident of Indira Mata Nagar on Hingna Road. Another woman has also been named in the case.
The complainant alleged that she had borrowed ₹5 lakh from the accused at a monthly interest rate of 10%. She claimed to have repaid ₹9.95 lakh in total but was still being pressured to make further payments.
When she told the accused that she had cleared the loan, he allegedly demanded sexual favours from her. He also allegedly followed her on different occasions, abused her verbally and threatened to defame her.
The woman subsequently approached MIDC police and lodged a complaint. Based on her statement, police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
