Nagpur: Dhantoli Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with multiple two-wheeler thefts and recovered three stolen Honda Activa scooters worth approximately ₹80,000.
The incident came to light after complainant Mangesh Rajurkar (38), a resident of Shatabdi Chowk, Nagpur, reported his Activa scooter (MH 32 Z 7429), valued at ₹25,000, stolen from the parking lot of his office near Indraprastha Building. Based on his complaint, a case was registered under Section 302 of the BNS.
During the investigation, technical surveillance led police to Niraj Prabhakar Uike of Changdev Nagar, Khamla, who confessed to the theft. On further questioning, Uike admitted to two additional vehicle thefts within the Dhantoli Police Station limits.
The accused was taken into custody, and all three stolen Activa scooters were recovered. Police have confirmed the total value of seized stolen vehicles as ₹80,000. Further investigation is underway to determine if the accused was involved in other similar offenses.
The breakthrough came under the supervision of CP Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP (North Region) Pramod Shewale, DCP Rahul Madane, and ACP (Sitabuldi Division) Sudhir Nandanwar. The operation was executed by PI Anamika Mirzapure and her team, including police personnel Subhash Vasade, Yogesh Chambhare, Amol Lonkar, Manoj Sonawane, Manik Dahfale, Bhuvaneshwar Mohod, and Rishabh Nishitkar.
