Wathoda police register case against 25-year-old accused; woman alleges assault over several months

Nagpur: Wathoda police have registered a case against a 25-year-old man for allegedly raping a married woman after threatening to kill her husband and children. The woman has also alleged that the accused repeatedly contacted and followed her, causing her distress.

The accused has been identified as Amir Akhtar Hussain (25), a resident of Garib Nawaz Chowk in Nagpur and a native of Akola.

According to the woman's complaint, she came in contact with Hussain in 2025 while working in connection with video editing. During this period, the accused allegedly began visiting her residence.

The woman alleged that Hussain later threatened to kill her husband and children and forced her to accompany him to her residence and an OYO hotel in Saibaba Nagar, Kharbi. She alleged that the accused established sexual relations with her against her will.

According to the police complaint, the alleged offences occurred between November 1, 2025 and August 8, 2026.

The woman further alleged that Hussain repeatedly called her at odd hours and followed her, despite her objections. Troubled by his alleged actions, she eventually approached Wathoda police and lodged a complaint.

Police subsequently registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including sections pertaining to rape, sexual offences, criminal intimidation and stalking.

The accused has not been declared guilty, and the allegations are subject to investigation. Wathoda police are examining the complaint and other evidence as part of the probe. Further action in the case is underway.
