Nagpur: Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari has been selected for the distinguished Humphrey Fellowship Program, "Leadership for the 21st Century," organized by the John F. Kennedy School in the United States. She is the only official selected from India for this prestigious program.

The three-week international fellowship program, held in Washington, D.C., is designed for senior professionals from both government and non-government sectors. It focuses on addressing policy-level responsibilities in critical sectors, promoting leadership development, strengthening the capacity to formulate appropriate policies and programs, and encouraging multilateral cooperation on key issues. Bidari will attend the leadership program at the John F. Kennedy School starting September 18.

A total of 12 esteemed individuals from 12 countries have been selected for this fellowship, with Mrs. Bidari representing India. The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) and the Fulbright Commission in New Delhi have extended their congratulations on her selection.

The fellowship, hosted by Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, includes an executive-level seminar on the topic "Leadership for the 21st Century: Chaos, Conflict, and Courage." The program will involve interactive discussions and case studies on major leadership challenges and solutions. Key topics will include leadership policies, the introduction of new leadership methods, the relationship between leaders and officials, and managing changes in personal and institutional dynamics.

During Vijayalakshmi Bidari's fellowship in the United States, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar will take on the additional charge of Divisional Commissioner.
