Nagpur Crime Branch Rescues Two Missing Minor Girls in Separate Operations

Nagpur: In a major success against human trafficking, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Nagpur Crime Branch traced and rescued two missing minor girls in separate operations on November 5, 2025.


The first case dates back to December 10, 2023, when a 35-year-old complainant from the Nandanvan area reported that his minor daughter had gone missing after leaving home without informing anyone. A kidnapping case under Section 363 of the IPC was registered at Nandanvan Police Station. Acting on specific intelligence, the AHTU team located the girl at Nagpur Railway Station. She was taken into custody, counselled, and later handed over to Nandanvan Police for further proceedings.


In another case, a 45-year-old man from Yashodharanagar reported on July 11, 2025, that his minor daughter had disappeared under similar circumstances. A case under Section 137(2) of the Juvenile Justice Act was registered at Yashodharanagar Police Station. Acting upon credible information, the AHTU team traced the girl at Sant Gadge Baba Sabhagruh, Binaki Mangalwari, on November 5, 2025. She too was safely rescued, counselled, and handed over to Yashodharanagar Police.


Both operations were executed under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and Assistant Commissioner (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil, by a team comprising PI Lalita Todase, PSI Shyam Anguthelwar, constables Sunil Wakde, Sachin Shrirame, Vilas Chinchulkar, Rishikesh Dumre, and woman constable Pallavi Wanjari.
