Bhandara: Advocate Manjit Kaur Matani, addressing a large public meeting in Bhandara city, urged people to follow the path of humanity rather than misuse religion for wrongful purposes. Speaking at the event, which featured a floral welcome and cultural performances, Adv. Matani said she has been targeted and threatened for speaking the truth but will not relent in her efforts to raise public awareness.
“God is a religion of humanity — walk by its purpose, don’t use it for wrongdoing,” she told the gathering. “They call me their daughter; I speak truth and therefore I am targeted and threatened. Still, I will not stop awakening the public.” She added that villagers of Khamari and several other places continue to regard her as their daughter and support her work.
Adv. Matani praised the teachings of Baba Jumdevji, saying his message promoted a drug-free life and truth. She warned that, despite these ideals, religion is often exploited for electoral gains while little is done for the needy. “No great hero could achieve what Baba did in Maharashtra — freeing people from alcohol, kharra and other intoxicants. Yet his sacrifice is being used for power,” she said.
She appealed to young people, saying where many youths are going astray, those who follow God’s principles should emphasize humanity. Local leaders — including Mehru Babu and Damai Babu, office-bearers of the spiritual organization — felicitated Matani on stage. Overwhelmed by the response, she reiterated her commitment: “I do not fear threats. I will work for you and keep raising awareness. If I have to sacrifice my life for your love, it will not be a big thing. I am your daughter and will always serve you, no matter the hardship.”
