Nagpur: The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has quashed an FIR against Nagpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ashok Bagul in a molestation case, following a request by the complainant to withdraw the allegations. The decision was based on an affidavit submitted by the complainant, stating her intent to focus on her career and competitive exam preparation, and her wish to resolve the matter amicably.
Bagul had been accused of seeking physical favours from a woman who approached him to file a complaint against her boyfriend. The allegations led to a molestation case being registered at Bhandara City Police Station.
During the hearing before Justice Suryawanshi and Justice M.W. Chandwani, the complainant clarified that the FIR had stemmed from a misunderstanding. She acknowledged filing the FIR as a mistake and expressed her decision to not pursue the matter further.
Citing the complainant’s affidavit and her statement, the court ordered the FIR against Bagul to be quashed.
The case was represented by advocates Shrirang Bhandarkar and Arthav Khadse on behalf of Ashok Bagul.
