Nagpur: The MIDC Police arrested a 32-year-old man who had been externed from Nagpur city and rural limits but was found roaming in prohibited areas near Rahi Hall here, on Tuesday.

During a routine patrol around 12:10 am on May 6, police received a tip about an externed person present in the MIDC area. Upon reaching the location, they spotted a man who tried to flee but was apprehended. He was identified as Swapnil Vamanrao Dhore, a resident of Jayatala Vasti, MIDC.

Upon verification, it was found that Dhore was externed for two years under order no. 14/2024 dated November 28, 2024, by DCP Zone 1. As he was found violating the externment order without permission, a case was registered under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act and he was taken into custody. Further investigation is underway.
