Nagpur: A man was brutally murdered after his throat was allegedly slit in the Maldhakka area under the jurisdiction of Lakadganj Police Station in Nagpur, police officials said on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rehman alias Rammu, a resident of Shantinagar.

According to police sources, local residents noticed a body lying in the area and immediately informed the Police Control Room. Following the alert, a team from Lakadganj Police Station, led by Police Inspector Mukund Kawade, reached the spot and initiated preliminary investigation procedures.

Police conducted a spot panchnama and secured the area for evidence collection. The body was later shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Nagpur, for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause and circumstances of death.

Police have registered the matter and launched an investigation to identify the accused and establish the motive behind the killing.
