Nagpur: A 50-year-old man lost his life after a speeding truck allegedly rammed into his motorcycle in the Mankapur area on March 25 afternoon.
The deceased, Dharamchand Bhaiyyalal Shiv, was riding his Splendor motorcycle (MH-31-FM-3271) through Shafinagar Chowk for painting work between 12.30 pm and 12.45 pm when the accident occurred. The truck (MH-34-AB-3498), allegedly driven rashly and negligently by Yogesh Ramvilas Pandey (33), a resident of Dhantoli, reportedly hit the motorcycle with force, causing grievous injuries.
Bystanders rushed the victim to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo Hospital), where doctors declared him dead.
Based on a complaint filed by his wife, Nitu Dharamchand Shiv (36), resident of Jayatala MIDC, a case has been registered at Mankapur Police Station under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
