Man Arrested with Knife Near College in Nagpur’s Hudkeshwar During Night Patrol

Nagpur: Police arrested a 33-year-old man for illegally carrying a sharp weapon in the Hudkeshwar area, potentially preventing a serious crime.


The incident took place on the night of March 19 between 10:20 pm and 10:50 pm, when a police patrol team spotted a suspicious person in an open ground near Gayatri Convent Junior College. On noticing the police, the individual attempted to escape but was chased and apprehended.


The accused has been identified as Akash alias Golu Dilip Revdiya, a resident of Narsala, Nagpur. During a search conducted in the presence of witnesses, police recovered a sharp iron knife worth ₹500 from his possession.


Police stated that the accused was carrying the weapon in violation of prohibitory orders and was suspected of intending to commit a cognizable offence. A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act.


The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is in progress.
