Nagpur | October 18, 2025: Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal and supervision of DCP Nityanand Jha (Zone 2), the NDPS Squad carried out a major raid within the jurisdiction of Shantinagar Police Station.
The operation took place near Bharati Akhada, opposite Itwari Railway Station, where 18 accused including the main organizer Ashok Yadav alias Babaji were caught red-handed while gambling with playing cards and cash. The team seized a total of ₹7,58,350/- worth of valuables from the spot.
The seized material includes ₹1,86,640 in cash, 19 mobile phones, 3 motorcycles, 10 sets of playing cards, a cooler, and other articles. A case has been registered under Sections 12(A), 4, and 5 of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act.
The main accused Ashok Yadav alias Babaji has 10 prior gambling cases registered against him and is also a history-sheeter with externment (tadipar) action. Several other accused are found to have past records under NDPS and serious IPC offences.
This successful action was executed by the NDPS Squad under the supervision of DCP Nityanand Jha (Zone 2) with the support of Shantinagar Police Station.
