Maha Metro to Develop Tehsil Office, APMC Market, Neelam Lawn in Kamptee

NAGPUR: In a major development, Maha Metro Nagpur and Kamptee Municipal Council (KMC) have entered into an agreement for development of land spaces in and around Kamptee. An MoU to that effect was signed today in presence of Maharashtra Revenue Minister and Nagpur District Guardian Minister Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Maha Metro MD Shri Shravan Hardikar.


Shri Anilkumar Kokate, Director (Strategic Planning), Shri Rajeev Tyagi Director (Project) and other Metro and state government officials were present on the occasion, during MoU signing ceremony between Shri Sandeep Bapat, ED (Property Development), Maha Metro and Chief Officer Kamptee Municipal Council Shri Vinod Jadhav, held today.


As per MoU, the land parcels to be developed are Sukarwari Market Kamptee – also known as APMC Market (spread over an area of 34,702 sqm. /8.5 acre) and Re-development of Neelam Lawn at Kamptee (14,976 sqm. / 3.70 acre).


In addition, renovation and development of Tahsil Office has also been proposed. As per agreement, Maha Metro shall conduct initial surveys and investigations including topographical and geotechnical surveys to facilitate the design process. Maha-Metro with the prior approval of KMC shall finalize RFP comprising of necessary designs, architectural plans, cost estimates.


Maha Metro would serve as implementing agency and has been tasked with the drafting Concept plan to be presented to the District Guardian Minister. The development or the follow-up action would be executed as per the procedures and norms laid down by KMC.


As per the MoU, Maha Metro shall appoint a Concept Architect to prepare the Concept Design. The project will be executed by Maha Metro Nagpur on PPP Basis.
