Nagpur: Lakadganj police have registered an FIR against Zishan Siddiqui, who runs the so-called NGP Janta Foundation, and his associate Shahbaz Khan, on charges of extortion, criminal intimidation and outraging the modesty of a woman, following a complaint filed by a 26-year-old city resident.

The complainant, Ahmed Khan Muzaffar Khan, a resident of the Yashodhara police station area, stated that he lives with his parents and siblings. He earlier operated a sawmill (aara machine), which was later shut down due to financial losses. According to the complaint, in mid-2024, his cousin Shahbaz Khan entered into a partnership with him in the sawmill business. Shahbaz allegedly arranged a loan of ₹20 lakh in the complainant’s name for business purposes, which the complainant claims to have repaid online in instalments.

However, after the business suffered losses and shut down in April 2025, Shahbaz allegedly began pressuring the complainant, claiming that interest on the loan amount was still pending. The complainant alleged that he was repeatedly harassed through personal visits and phone calls over the alleged interest amount.

The matter escalated on September 3, 2025, when the complainant’s family had gone to his maternal uncle’s residence in the Satranjipura area under Lakadganj police limits. As per the FIR, while the complainant was not present, Shahbaz Khan and Zishan Siddiqui went to the house and abused the complainant’s mother and sister, demanding money.

The complaint further alleges that Zishan Siddiqui forcibly pulled the complainant’s sister’s scarf, grabbed her cheek, threatened to strip her and warned that he would make a video viral accusing the complainant of cheating people. The accused also allegedly issued death threats before leaving the spot.

Out of fear, the complainant stated that he later paid ₹3 lakh in cash to Zishan Siddiqui, following which the accused claimed to have deleted the video. Despite this, the complainant alleged that Siddiqui, at the instance of Shahbaz Khan, continued to demand ₹45 lakh as interest and repeatedly threatened to defame him by circulating the video.

The complainant said he remained silent due to fear but finally gathered courage to approach the police. Based on his complaint, Lakadganj police have registered a case against Shahbaz Khan and Zishan Siddiqui and initiated further investigation.
