Interstate Gang Involved in Housebreakings Busted by Nagpur Crime Branch; Gold Worth ₹3.5 Lakh Recovered

Nagpur: The Crime Branch’s Housebreaking Prevention Unit cracked a major burglary reported in the Sakkardara police limits, arresting three members of an interstate gang involved in house thefts across regions. The breakthrough came during a parallel technical investigation based on credible intelligence.


The incident occurred between 10 am and 2.30 pm on November 7, when complainant Chaitanya Pundalik Kumre (34), a resident of Mahalaxmi Tower, Ayurvedic Layout, had locked his home and travelled to Gadchiroli for work. During his absence, unidentified burglars allegedly broke open the main door lock and latch before entering the bedroom and stealing gold ornaments worth ₹4,25,000 from a wooden cupboard.


Following the initial complaint, Sakkardara Police had registered a case under Sections 305 and 331(3) of the BNS against unknown accused.


During sustained investigation, the Crime Branch team identified and apprehended three suspects linked to an interstate housebreaking network. The arrested accused have been identified as:


  1. Panchakshari Sangayya Swami (38) – Hillpark Apartment, Moddi area, Solapur
  2. Sayyad Ali Munnu Ali (32) – Basavant Pakar alias Madrahiya, Soharatgarh, Siddharth Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh
  3. Manoj Ramchandra Dighe (41) – Shinde Chowk, Solapur


During interrogation, the trio confessed to committing the burglary in a coordinated manner. Police recovered 35 grams of gold ornaments worth ₹3,50,000 from their possession, identified as part of the stolen property.


The accused, along with the recovered assets, have been handed over to Sakkardara Police for further investigation. Efforts are underway to trace the remaining stolen valuables and verify the gang’s involvement in similar offences across states.


The operation was executed under the supervision of Police Commissioner Ravindra Kumar Singhal, Joint Commissioner of Police Navin Chandra Reddy, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Mankikar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil.
