₹6.18 Lakh Cash, Jewellery Stolen from First-Floor House in Gittikhadan While Family Sat Downstairs

Nagpur: Unidentified burglars decamped with cash and gold ornaments worth over ₹6.18 lakh from a locked house in Samadhan Nagar, Police Line Takli, on Friday evening.
The theft occurred between 4:30 pm and 9 pm on September 5, when complainant Sandhya Jitendra Thakur (40) had locked her first-floor house and was sitting with her in-laws on the ground floor.
Police said the thieves entered the house, unlocked a cupboard with its key, and escaped with ₹50,000 cash and 142 grams of gold jewellery.
Based on Thakur’s complaint, Gittikhadan Police have registered a case against unknown suspects under sections of housebreaking and theft. A manhunt has been launched, and further investigation is in progress.
