Nagpur: Hudkeshwar police have registered a case against two former employees of a petrol pump for allegedly stealing between 7,000 and 8,000 litres of diesel worth approximately ₹7.5 lakh from the outlet in Nagpur.

The accused have been identified as Mohammed Danish Ismail Khan, 22, and Sufiyat Khan alias Ramzan Khan, 23, both residents of the Motha Tajbagh area under Sakkardara police station limits.

According to the police, the complainant, Imran Khan Hamid Khan, 35, a petrol pump supervisor, has been working at the HP petrol pump near Sanjay Gandhi Chowk on Ring Road, close to the turning, for the past 10 years. Around seven to eight employees work under him.

The supervisor reportedly noticed irregularities in the diesel stock at the petrol pump. Suspecting theft, he checked the CCTV footage on September 30.

During the inspection, he allegedly found that the two accused, who had previously worked at the petrol pump, were stealing diesel from the rear side of the outlet. The accused allegedly switched off the pump machine and used the nozzle to siphon diesel.

Police said the theft allegedly amounted to around 7,000 to 8,000 litres of diesel valued at ₹7.5 lakh.

Based on the supervisor’s complaint, Hudkeshwar police registered an offence under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
