Externed Criminal Arrested in Sonegaon for Violating Ban Order

Nagpur: Sonegaon Police arrested a 33-year-old externed criminal in the early hours of Wednesday after he was found roaming suspiciously in the Rajiv Nagar area in violation of a two-year externment order.


Around 12:20 am on November 26, a police patrol team received information about a suspicious person loitering near Grace Hospital on Wardha Road. When the team reached the spot, the man attempted to flee but was chased and detained.


During questioning, he identified himself as Sagar Sudhakar Narnavre, a resident of Rahul Nagar Slums, Somalwada. A background check revealed that he had been externed from Nagpur city and rural limits for two years under Externment Order No. 10/2024 issued by the DCP (Zone 1) on November 12, 2024.


Police said Sagar had entered the police station limits without permission and was suspected to be scouting the area with the intention of committing a crime. As he had violated the prohibitory order, Sonegaon Police registered an offence under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act and placed him under arrest.


Further investigation is underway.
