Nagpur: An employee entrusted with handling bank transactions for a wholesale drug business has been booked for embezzling ₹6 lakh using a stolen cheque.

Complainant Vinit Vinayak Varghne (35), a resident of Kamal Chowk, Pachpaoli, alleged that accused Jagdish Samarth Dahiwale (50), a resident of Vaishali Nagar, was employed since 2023 to assist with deliveries and finances. After Varghne met with an accident in November 2024, he continued business operations from home while the accused managed financial dealings.

During this time, the accused allegedly stole a signed cheque from Varghne’s residence and withdrew ₹6,00,000 without permission, betraying the complainant’s trust.

Following an internal audit and subsequent inquiry, a case was registered at Pachpaoli Police Stationby Sub-Inspector Sonawane under Sections 306 and 331(4) of the BNS. The investigation is in progress.
