Double Murder Shocks Nagpur Within Few Hours: Ragpicker Killed in Tehsil, Man Stabbed Over Loan in Kotwali

Nagpur: Two brutal murders within span of few hours have sent shockwaves across Nagpur city, with incidents reported from Tehsil and Kotwali Police Station jurisdictions on the night of Sunday, June 8. One victim, a ragpicker, was bludgeoned to death in Agrasen Square, while another man was fatally stabbed in a dispute over a loan in Lakadganj.



Ragpicker Bludgeoned to Death with Stone at Agrasen Square:


At around 9:45 pmAnurag alias Ghoda Sunil Borkar (33), a resident of Shantinagar, allegedly attacked and killed Anna alias Shailesh (aged 40–45), a ragpicker known to him. The incident occurred in front of Punjab Hardware and Sanitary Stores, Agrasen Square.


Borkar is accused of repeatedly hitting the victim on his chest and head with a stone, severely injuring him. He was taken to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.


Based on a complaint by Rakesh Sridhar Sabal (45), Tehsil Police registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and swiftly arrested the accused. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation.



Man Killed Over Loan Dispute, Two Accused Apprehended:


Around 11:00 pm, a loan dispute turned deadly when Rahul Mohan Pande (24) was allegedly stabbed by Rohit alias Mari Namdev Chandekar (29) at Royal Electricals, behind Lakadganj bus stop.


According to the police, Rahul had lent ₹8,000 to the accused. When he asked for repayment, the accused called him to meet at the location, where he and his accomplices—Vicky Namdev Chandekar (33) and Niraj Larokar—were already waiting.


After a verbal altercation, the trio allegedly assaulted Rahul and his friends. Rohit then stabbed Rahul, causing fatal injuries. Rahul was rushed to Mayo Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.


Based on a complaint by Rahul’s mother, Sunita Mohan Pande (49), Kotwali Police registered a case under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of BNS. Two of the accused—Rohit and Vicky—have been apprehended, while further investigation is ongoing.
