Crime Branch Unit 2 Cracks Daring Daylight Robbery in Nagpur, Four Arrested; Car and Mobile Phones Worth ₹4.20 Lakh Seized

Nagpur: In a swift breakthrough, Crime Branch Unit 2 of Nagpur Police has solved a sensational daylight robbery reported under Gittikhadan police limits and arrested four accused involved in the crime.


The incident occurred on April 3, 2026, around 1.20 pm at Plot No. 56, Welcome Society, Dabha. Complainant Satish Parmeshwar Gadpayle (53) had gone to work when his 17-year-old son Shreyas was alone at home watching television. Eight unidentified men arrived in a Swift car and on a motorcycle, forcibly entered the house and threatened the teenager at knifepoint. The accused allegedly warned him of dire consequences if he did not hand over cash, before fleeing with ₹40,000 from a cupboard.


Based on the complaint, Gittikhadan police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.


During parallel investigation, Crime Branch Unit 2 officials analyzed CCTV footage and technical evidence, leading to the arrest of Sandeep Bhojraj Thakre (23), Sumit Punjab Uike (23), Rishabh Rajkumar Vaishya (24), and Nikhil Anand Patil (22), all residents of Nagpur. During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the robbery along with other absconding accomplices.


Police seized the Swift car used in the crime and mobile phones collectively worth ₹4.20 lakh. The accused and seized property have been handed over to Gittikhadan Police for further investigation.


The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior city police officials and led by PI Shubhangi Deshmukh and her team.
