Nagpur: In a significant action against the illegal sale of e-cigarettes and hookah-related products, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Unit of Nagpur Police conducted a raid at Mehfil Smoke Shop, located opposite Children’s Traffic Park on Mata Mandir Road, Dharampeth on Tuesday.
The operation was carried out under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi Police Station between 7:00 pm and 9:05 pm on July 1, 2025.
Accused Identified:
- Vaibhav Vikas Kamble (27)
- Shubham Vikas Kamble (31)
- Both residents of Baba Buddha Nagar, Pachpaoli, Nagpur.
Seized Items:
- 17 Web e-cigarettes
- 17 packets of foreign prohibited cigarettes
- Multiple hookah pots, pipes, and flavored tobacco products
- Two-wheeler vehicle
- 4 mobile phones
- DVR system
- Cash
- Total value of seized material: ₹3,36,070
Following a tip-off about the illegal sale of e-cigarettes and hookah paraphernalia at the said establishment, officers conducted a targeted raid, uncovering a substantial quantity of prohibited items. A panchnama was prepared on the spot, and a case has been registered under Sections 4, 5, 7, and 8 of the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarette Act along with the COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act).
