Denies Allegations of Manhandling Police Personnel
Nagpur: Following the controversial incident on October 5, in which BJP leader Munna Yadav and his family members were involved in a bloody altercation, Yadav held a press conference on Tuesday to clarify that while the matter had been mutually settled, police personnel, on the other hand, framed him on baseless charges. He also denied allegations of manhandling the police.
Addressing the press conference at Hotel Heritage in Civil Lines, Munna Yadav stated that after he exposed local drug rackets, including the sale of MD and ganja, the Dhantoli police and DCP Zone 2 turned a blind eye to the pleas of locals. However, as he continued to highlight the issue, the police framed him in connection with the October 5 incident, he claimed.
Yadav further lamented that areas like Takia, Anand Nagar, and Gajanan Nagar have become prime spots for drug smuggling due to the apathy of the Dhantoli police.
On the issue of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis allegedly helping him, Munna Yadav clarified that if the DCM had indeed helped him, no offence would have been registered against him. He dismissed the allegations of the DCM's intervention and claims of obstructing the duties of Nagpur police as baseless.
Responding to the statements made by former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Munna Yadav said that Deshmukh should reflect on his own legacy. "I don't have any corruption charges against me, so Anil Deshmukh should introspect before commenting on me," he stated.
