Nagpur: Tehsil Police have registered a case against three youths for allegedly operating an illegal casino gambling racket using electronic machines in the Timki–Pachpaoli area of Nagpur. The action was taken following a late-night raid conducted on February 6, 2026.
According to police, around 11.20 pm, the Tehsil police patrolling team received reliable information that gambling activities were being carried out using casino machines on the upper floor of a building located in a lane beside Vijay Medicos near the railway crossing in Timki–Pachpaoli. Acting on the tip-off, police conducted a raid in the presence of panch witnesses.
During the raid, the accused were found operating various casino games such as Front Line, Hello Win, Master, Express Bonus, KZ Wheel, Topper and Mint, where money was being wagered on wins and losses. The arrested accused have been identified as Gaurav Rajesh Nanhe (23), a resident of Old Mangalwari, Mattipura, Lakadganj; Akshay Devidas Phulzhele (26), a resident of Naik Talao, Bangladesh area, Pachpaoli; and Rohit Shrikant Bhongade (23), a resident of Samrat Ashok Chowk, Ambedkar Nagar, Wadi.
Police seized cash worth ₹4,000, 17 casino machines, monitors, printer, scanner, CPU, keyboard, three mobile phones and other materials, collectively valued at ₹4,83,850. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were operating the gambling setup with the help of their absconding associate Ejaz Sheikh (32), a resident of Jaripatka.
A case has been registered at Tehsil Police Station under Sections 4 and 5 of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act. Efforts are on to trace the absconding accused and further investigation is underway. The operation was carried out by PI Sanjay Mende and his Tehsil team, under the guidance of senior police officials, including DCP Rahul Madne and ACP Shivprasad Parve.
