Nagpur: Unidentified burglars allegedly broke into a house in Kalamna and stole cash and gold and silver ornaments worth ₹1.94 lakh, police said.
The complainant, Loknath Chhotelal Yadav (62), a resident of Mini Mata Nagar near Janaki Nagar Chowk, Kalamna, originally hails from Ganjakhet Chowk, Nagpur.
Police said Yadav’s wife and younger son had travelled to Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh, leaving him and his elder son at home.
On July 1, 2026, between 10.30 am and 6.30 pm, Yadav had locked the gate of his house and gone to his shop. During this period, an unidentified thief allegedly entered the house by opening the door and stole ₹1,000 in cash and various gold and silver ornaments kept inside an iron cupboard in the bedroom.
The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at ₹1.94 lakh.
Based on the complaint, Kalamna Police have registered a case against an unidentified accused under Section 305(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprit.
