Banned Nylon Manja Seized in Wathoda; One Arrested, Another Wanted

Nagpur: In a major action against the sale of banned kite-flying material, Crime Branch Unit No. 4 of Nagpur Police seized prohibited nylon manja worth ₹61,500 during a raid conducted in the Wathoda police station limits.


Acting on specific information, Crime Branch officials were patrolling the area between 5.50 pm and 6.50 pm on December 29, 2025, when they conducted a search at a residence located at Jaiswal Estate, East Point area, near ITI College. During the raid, police recovered 30 bundles of banned nylon manja branded as ‘Mono Kite’ from the possession of Adarsh Pawan Jaiswal (21), a resident of Plot No. 21.


Along with the nylon manja, a mobile phone was also seized, taking the total value of confiscated items to ₹61,500. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the banned material was procured from another youth, Rohit (21), whose mobile number has been traced. A search is currently underway to nab the absconding accused.


An offence has been registered at Wathoda Police Station under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with Sections 5 and 15 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986. The accused has been handed over to Wathoda police for further action.


The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime) Abhijeet Patil.
