Nagpur: in Nagpur city is a prominent Buddhist religious site, attracting lakhs of devotees from across the country every year, which leads to large-scale gatherings. Planning for public safety at this location is extremely important, as any unsafe incident could impact a large number of people.
Under the guidance of Nagpur City Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, DCP Rishikesh Reddy Zone 1 has taken the initiative to implement modern AI technology to enhance public safety at Deekshabhoomi. Approximately 100 CCTV cameras have been connected to an AI system. These cameras are integrated with the SIMBA database, enabling immediate identification of any criminal as soon as they arrive. Crowd density is continuously monitored, and reserve forces are deployed to areas with high concentration of people. By observing crowd movement, suspicious groups are promptly detected, and reserve forces are immediately dispatched. Any controversial banners or signs are instantly read and alerts are sent to the police, while any suspicious or misplaced objects are immediately flagged through the AI system. These measures allow continuous situational awareness and enable rapid, informed deployment of police teams to ensure public safety.
As part of this initiative, Nagpur City Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal conducted a firsthand inspection of the drone surveillance system and real-time footfall monitoring technology at Deekshabhoomi. This advanced AI-based security arrangement has proven highly beneficial for Nagpur Police during Deekshabhoomi events, making a significant contribution to enhancing public safety and operational efficiency in the city.
