Zomato Delivery Boy Robbed at Knifepoint in Gittikhadan; Three Youths Arrested

Nagpur: A Zomato delivery boy was robbed at knifepoint in the Gittikhadan area of Nagpur, following which police led by PI Kailash Deshmane, arrested three youths and recovered a knife used in the crime.


The incident occurred around 1.15 am on December 18, 2025, when the complainant, Shubham Kisanji Thakare (22), a resident of Mahendra Colony near Radium School, was waiting near TV Tower on IBM Road to deliver a food order. While he was calling the customer, three unknown persons approached him, abused him and assaulted him with fists and kicks. The trio then threatened him with a knife and forcibly snatched ₹5,000 in cash before fleeing the spot.


Based on the complaint, Gittikhadan police registered a case and initiated a search. On December 22 around 9 pm, during routine patrolling, police noticed three suspicious youths whose descriptions matched those provided by the victim. They were detained and identified as Sohel alias Chiku Salim Khan (19), a resident of Krishna Nagar, IBM Road, and Sujal Ujwal Patil (20) and Sujal Vinod Patil (21), both residents of Azad Nagar, Gittikhadan.


During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in the robbery. Police arrested all three under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and seized one iron knife from their possession. Further investigation is underway.
