Nagpur: The Hudkeshwar Police have registered a case against Gaurav Pancham Chauhan, the son of a policeman, for allegedly abetting the suicide of his friend, Tushar Sudhir Yeole, over a financial dispute. Gaurav, 24, a resident of New Prerna Nagar, is accused of pushing his friend Tushar, also 24, into taking his own life after Tushar faced financial difficulties linked to a failed business venture.
Tushar, who lived at Plot No. 18, Vinayak Nagar, behind Besa Power House, near Mhalgi Nagar, consumed poison on the afternoon of August 21. As his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to KRIMS Hospital, where he passed away at around 6:25 p.m. on August 24. Initially, the police had registered the case as an accidental death. However, the discovery of a suicide note during the investigation revealed that Tushar had lent Rs 11.70 lakh to Gaurav to help him start a café.
According to the report, Tushar’s father, Sudhir Namdeorao Ingle, 52, had provided the money by selling a plot. Additionally, Tushar had financed electronic gadgets and other materials for the café in his name. Despite this, Gaurav later closed the café and relocated to Mumbai, leaving Tushar to shoulder the financial burden alone. When bank authorities began contacting Tushar for loan repayments, he sought Gaurav's assistance in recovering the funds. Gaurav allegedly refused to repay the money, which led Tushar into a deep depression, ultimately resulting in his tragic decision to end his life.
Based on a complaint filed by Tushar’s father, the police have now registered a case under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against Gaurav. Further investigations are ongoing.
