Ramtek: A tragic road accident occurred on the Ramtek-Mouda road on Wednesday around noon, claiming the lives of a woman and her nephew. The victims, identified as Vijaya Bhimrao Thakre, 50, and Sachin Mulchand Thakre, 27, both residents of Hamlapuri, Ramtek, were fatally injured when a speeding car collided head-on with their Activa scooter.

The incident took place near the Shani Temple on the Ramtek-Nagardhan-Mouda road. Sachin was riding the Activa scooter, with his aunt Vijaya seated behind him. They were traveling from Ramtek to Hamlapuri via Nagardhan when a car, bearing registration number CG/04/NH/6515, came speeding from

Nagardhan towards Ramtek and collided forcefully with their scooter. The impact of the collision was so severe that the front portion of the scooter was completely crushed.

Locals quickly informed the authorities and rushed the critically injured victims to the Sub-District Hospital in Ramtek. Unfortunately, both were declared dead on arrival due to the severity of their injuries.

The police arrived at the accident scene shortly after receiving the information, conducted a panchnama, and later handed over the bodies to the family after completing the necessary post-mortem examinations. A case has been registered against the driver of the car, and further investigations are underway.
