Nagpur: In a late-night raid, Nagpur Police Crime Branch’s Unit 5, in coordination with the Social Security Branch (SSB) and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), busted an illegal rave party taking place at a private farmhouse near Asha Hospital on Kamptee Road under New Kamptee Police Station limits on Sunday, May 11.
Acting on credible information, police conducted the raid between 1:00 am and 5:00 am and detained four men and four women found consuming MD drugs during the party. The accused were identified as Sunil Shankarlal Agrawal (61), resident of Ramlaxmi Colony, Kamptee, Gautam Sushil Jain (51), resident of Ramdaspeth, Sitabuldi, Nilesh Babulal Gadiya (61), resident of Kamal Palace, Ramdaspeth, Sitabuldi and Mitesh Manoharlal Khakkar (48), resident of Ramdaspeth, Sitabuldi.
During the search, authorities seized 1.31 grams of MD drug, a hookah pot, a tobacco-flavored packet, ₹58,000 in cash, six mobile phones, and two four-wheelers—altogether worth ₹26,00,770.
A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 8(c), 21(a), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, as well as Sections 4(1), 5(1), and 21 of the COTPA Act (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act).
The accused have been handed over to New Kamptee Police Station for further investigation.
The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil.
