Nagpur: Two unidentified youths allegedly snatched a 15-gram gold chain worth around ₹35,000 from a 53-year-old teacher while she was riding her two-wheeler on Ramdaspeth Road under the Sitabuldi police station limits on Thursday night.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred around 8.50 pm on September 24 near Hotel Centre Point, opposite Vasant Medical Store on Ramdaspeth Road. The victim, identified as Tanuja Keshav Pratapsingh (53), a resident of Dhantoli, was travelling on her two-wheeler (MH-31-GE-5153).

The complainant told police that two unidentified youths, aged around 19 to 20 years, were riding a motorcycle and followed her from behind. The youth riding pillion allegedly grabbed the gold chain from her neck and fled with his accomplice towards Lokmat Square.

The stolen chain weighed approximately 15 grams and was valued at ₹35,000. Based on the complaint, Sitabuldi police registered a case under Section 304(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)and launched an investigation to identify and trace the two suspects.
