Nagpur: A tragic hit-and-run accident at RBI Square in the Sadar police limits claimed the lives of brother and sister and left their father critically injured late Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 10.35 pm when a speeding truck (NL 01 AG 0868) allegedly driven rashly and negligently, rammed into a motorcycle (MH 31 FK 1811) from behind and fled the spot.
The crash killed 11-year-old Rudra Sunil Singaldhupe on the spot. Twelve-year-old Simran Singaldhupe and 56-year-old Sheshnathsingh Jageshwarsingh—residents of KGN Society, Katol Road—were rushed to Mayo Hospital. Simran was declared dead during treatment, while Sheshnathsingh is undergoing treatment at Shantimohan Hospital.
Acting swiftly, Sitabuldi Police detained the absconding truck driver within hours. Based on the complaint filed by PSI Ashish Hirasinh Jadhav, Sadar Police arrested the accused driver, identified as 37-year-old Sahendar Pancham Bin of Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.
A case has been registered under Sections 281, 125(a), 125(b), and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is underway.
