Three Apprehended with MD Powder Worth ₹2.33 Lakh in Kamptee; Two Accomplices Absconding

Nagpur: In a major anti-narcotics operation, the New Kamptee Police apprehended three individuals in possession of mephedrone (MD) powder late Saturday, May 31 night. Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided Room No. 101 at New Shan-E-Punjab Lodge in Kamptee and seized 46.72 grams of MD powder valued at approximately ₹2.33 lakh.


The raid, conducted between 8:35 pm on May 31 and 12:10 am on June 1, led to the arrest of the following accused Tariq Parvez (45), resident of Ismailpura, Kamptee, Bilal Nagani (36), resident of Bunkar Colony, Kamptee and Mohammad Aman (27), resident of Ismailpura, Kamptee.


In addition to the drug seizure, police confiscated five mobile phones, two mopeds, and other items, bringing the total value of the recovered material to ₹4.85 lakh.


Upon interrogation, the accused revealed they had procured the MD powder with the help of their accomplices who are currently absconding. The accused admitted to possessing and selling the narcotics for financial gain.


A case has been registered under Sections 8(c), 22(c), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at New Kamptee Police Station. Further investigation is underway to trace the absconding accused.


The operation was executed under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP N.D. Reddy, Additional CP (North Region) Rajendra Dabhade, DCP (Zone 5) Niketan Kadam, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kamptee Division) Vishal Kshirsagar.


The police team was led by PI Suhas Raut, along with API Sachin Yadav, PSI Vikas Tidke, and police staff Vilas Devgade, Naresh Khargban, Afak, Roshan Dakhore, Firoz Shaikh, Nitesh Navghade, Rahul Waghmare, and Akash Tekam.
