SSB Busts Sex Racket in Dhantoli, Arrests Agent for Allegedly Luring Women Into Prostitution

Nagpur: The Social Security Branch (SSB) of Nagpur Police busted an alleged sex trafficking racket operating in the Dhantoli area and arrested a 22-year-old man accused of luring women into prostitution by promising quick financial gains.


According to police, the action was carried out on June 3 following specific information received by the Social Security Branch. The accused, identified as Dhammadeep Ravindra Gajbhiye (22), a resident of Bhivsen Khori, Dabha area of Nagpur, was allegedly involved in procuring women and arranging customers for commercial sexual activities in exchange for money.


Acting on the tip-off, an SSB team conducted a raid with the help of two panch witnesses and a decoy customer near Mate Apartment on the road leading from Chhatrapati Chowk towards the Narendra Nagar railway underpass under the jurisdiction of Dhantoli Police Station. During the operation, police found the accused along with a victim woman at the spot.


Investigations revealed that the accused had allegedly brought the woman for sexual services and was facilitating prostitution for financial benefit. Based on the findings, Dhantoli Police registered Crime No. 126/2026 under Sections 143(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.


The accused was arrested, while the rescued woman was shifted to Karuna Hostel for care and rehabilitation.


The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Inspector Rahul Shire and included API Shivaji Nanware, NPC Sheshrao Raut, Police Constables Ashwin Mange, Kunal Masaram, Sameer Sheikh, Kunal Bodkhe, and Woman Head Constable Aarti Chauhan.
