Nagpur: The Social Security Branch (SSB) of Nagpur Police has successfully nabbed three accused wanted in a murder case registered at Gittikhadan Police Station. The arrests were made in connection with Crime No. 52/2026 registered under Sections 103 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Accused Arrested
The arrested accused have been identified as:
- Mohammad Shahrukh alias Baba Sheikh World Taj (25), resident of Itkala Maidan, Jafar Nagar, under Mankapur Police Station limits.
- Dishant alias Sannata Anil Kale (23), resident of Awasthi Nagar Chowk, Mankapur Police Station area, Nagpur.
- Dixit Suresh Shirsagar (25), resident of Awasthi Nagar Chowk, Mankapur Police Station limits.
According to police sources, the incident originated from a heated altercation involving the deceased Guddu Pandey and his brother Sandeep Pandey, who allegedly abused the aunt of Dishant Anil Kale (mother of Rahul Vairagade). During the confrontation, the deceased allegedly threatened them by brandishing a knife and issuing death threats.
An attempt was made by Bunty alias Buran Sheikh to pacify the situation, following which Guddu Pandey and his brother left the spot, holding a grudge.
Angered by the abuse of his aunt, Dishant Anil Kale, along with his associates Mohammad Shahrukh Sheikh and Dixit Suresh Shirsagar, set out in search of Guddu Pandey. Upon receiving information that the deceased was present at Police Line Takli Ground along with a few associates, the trio approached him.
During the confrontation, Guddu Pandey allegedly attacked Mohammad Shahrukh with a knife. In an act of self-defence, Shahrukh reportedly snatched the knife and stabbed Guddu Pandey, after which all three fled the scene.
Following a coordinated search operation, the Social Security Branch traced and apprehended all three accused and handed them over to Gittikhadan Police Station for further legal action and investigation.
The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Inspector Rahul Shire, with Assistant Police Inspector Shivaji Nanaware playing a key role. The arrest was executed by the Social Security Branch team comprising NPC Sheshrao Raut and Police Constables Ashwin Mange and Kunal Masram, whose coordinated efforts led to the swift apprehension of all three accused.
Police are continuing further inquiry into the case.
