Nagpur: Wadi Police arrested two persons after a youth was found circulating videos of himself posing with a firearm on social media to create fear in society. Acting on specific intelligence, the Wadi police investigation team detained Jaggarajsingh alias Parassingh Bajwa (20), a resident of Dattawadi, Nagpur, around 11 am on January 2.
During scrutiny of his mobile phone, police discovered videos showing him holding a firearm. On questioning, Bajwa revealed that the weapon had been given to him by his maternal uncle, Sarvansingh Kattarsingh Randhawa (45), a resident of Talegaon in Wardha district. A police team immediately proceeded to Talegaon and recovered a pistol along with a magazine, collectively valued at approximately Rs 30,000.
Both accused were arrested for possessing a firearm with criminal intent and for violating prohibitory orders. A case has been registered at Wadi police station under Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act along with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
Further investigation is underway.
