Nagpur: In a significant reshuffle within the Nagpur Police Department, seven police stations have been assigned new senior inspectors (officers-in-charge). Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singhal has ordered the transfer of 12 police personnel, with the move aimed at enhancing crime control in certain areas where it was found to be lacking. The reshuffle comes at a critical time as elections approach, and further transfers are expected.
Among the major changes, Prashant Thaware, who was previously heading the Hingna Police Station, has been transferred to lead the Mankapur Police Station. Jitendra Bobade, who was serving as the inspector (crime) at Gittikhadan, will now take charge of Hingna Police Station.
Smita Jadhav, the senior inspector at Mankapur, has been reassigned to the Economic Offenses Wing, while Vinayak Koli, who was the officer-in-charge of Dhantoli Police Station, will now lead Nandanvan Police Station. Anamika Mirzapure, currently the crime inspector at Sitabuldi, has been appointed as the new officer-in-charge of Dhantoli Police Station.
Popat Dhaytunde, who was in charge of Nandanvan Police Station, has been transferred to the Special Branch. Kamalakar Gaddime, the officer-in-charge of Imamwada Police Station, which has been the focus of attention due to various reasons, has been moved to Unit 4 of the Crime Branch. Ramesh Tale will now take over the responsibilities of Imamwada Police Station.
In addition, Vitthalsingh Rajput, who headed Bajaj Nagar Police Station, has been transferred to the Economic Offenses Wing. Surendra Aherkar, previously with the Crime Branch, will now assume leadership of Bajaj Nagar Police Station.
