Nagpur: Revenue Minister and Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed the district administration to immediately prepare and submit a proposal for the availability of adequate land near a Metro station in Kamptee for setting up a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) office, keeping future security requirements in view.
Bawankule said that a robust Metro network and commuter-friendly services have already been developed across Nagpur city and adjoining rural areas. He informed that the Metro corridor would soon be extended up to Kanhan via Kamptee as part of the Ramtek-bound expansion. With this expansion, he stressed the need to strengthen security infrastructure and instructed officials to conduct a site inspection to identify suitable land for the proposed DCP office in Kamptee and submit a detailed proposal accordingly. At present, Metro services are operational up to Automotive Square, while work on the Kamptee stretch is nearing completion.

During the meeting, Bawankule also directed officials to verify whether land acquired for the Wena project has been legally transferred to the original landowners in accordance with statutory provisions, and to ensure appropriate resolution where required. He instructed that a committee be constituted under the chairmanship of the District Collector to examine the matter and submit a factual report.
Additionally, the Guardian Minister directed the administration to carry out map correction and proper demarcation of government land allotted to the Anti-Naxal Operations unit of the Police Headquarters at Mouza Surabardi. He also ordered the immediate resolution of pending issues related to scrub forest land in compliance with court directives.
