Nagpur: The South East Central Railway (SECR) has partially resumed services on the Itwari-Chhindwara route, with trains now running up to Bhimalgondi Railway Station. The route had been disrupted after a significant bridge in the ghat section developed cracks.

The SECR headquarters has now given the green light to the Nagpur Division to operate trains from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Station to Bhimalgondi. While the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 94 is underway, the work is expected to take considerable time to complete. In the meantime, Train Nos. 08119/08120 and 08625/08266 will operate only between Bhimalgondi and Itwari stations.

The disruption of the Nagpur-Chhindwara rail link has been a major setback for commuters. Although the presence of a good national highway has led many to prefer road travel, a significant number of passengers, particularly traders who rely on the rail link for accessing local markets, have been adversely affected by the interruption in connectivity.
