Nagpur: In a strict disciplinary action, two sanitation supervisors working in the Lakadganj and Ashi Nagar zones of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) have been suspended for dereliction of duty. The suspension orders were issued by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary here, on Friday.

The suspended employees have been identified as Pr. Sanitation Supervisor Rajesh Jumle, who was working in Ward No. 23 of Lakadganj Zone, and Sanitation Supervisor Ritesh Usarbarse, who was working in Ward No. 2 of Ashi Nagar Zone.

In response to multiple complaints regarding cleanliness across the NMC's ten zones, Assistant Commissioners and senior officials have been conducting surprise inspections at various locations. During these inspections, any staff found neglecting their duties are subjected to disciplinary action. In the surprise inspections of the Lakadganj and Ashi Nagar zones, Pr. Sanitation Supervisor Rajesh Jumle and Sanitation Supervisor Ritesh Usarbarse were found to be negligent in their duties, leading to their suspension as per the rules.

Following the directives of the Municipal Commissioner, Additional Commissioner (City) Aanchal Goyal issued the suspension orders for both sanitation supervisors.
